The WSK has assumed great importance in the world of international karting and CRG was determined to impose its technological superiority there, in the wake of its two world titles in KZ1 and Super KF. In Lonato, the CRG-Maxter couple showed again some superb performances, as demonstrated by Arnaud Kozlinski, who won with panache the 2009 WSK title. His team mates’ excellent results allowed the CRG Racing Team to win the Eurocup, i.e. the team classification.

Regardless of whether the CRG Team goes to win the World Championship in Macao, almost 10,000 kilometres away from its headquarters, or tries to conquer the WSK title in Lonato, which is just a few kilometres away from its factory, it is with the same strong determination that the team attends these major international events. And once again, the stake was high, especially for Arnaud Kozlinski. The CRG-Maxter driver arrived on the shores of the Garda lake with 15 points less than his nearest rival Sauro Cesetti in the Super KF WSK standings.

Super-Koko.jpgGiven the competitiveness of our equipment and the competence of the team, I was quite optimistic before the race” the French karter declared. “It all started well when I reached the Super Pole, because then I could manage the heats as I liked, but always keeping an eye on Cesetti. During the warm-up, just before the final race, I had the chance to adjust a few parameters and got a confirmation of my excellent feelings. In the final, Ardigo and Groman started a dogfight. I took the lead of the race, I also set the best lap in race, then I saw that Cesetti had dropped back in the hierarchy. Finally, the team communicated me that he had stopped. At that point, I was no longer forced to take risks. Ardigo and I opened a gap over the other competitors and I decided to settle for a second place in his wake. The most important thing was to win the WSK“.

With Davide Forè’s recovery up to 10th, CRG added another title to its already remarkable 2009 collection of victories, with the first place in the Eurocup for teams. “I am quite pleased with what we have achieved this season“, Giancarlo Tinini, CRG manager commented. “After these victories in KZ1 and Super KF, we intend to increase our efforts in KF2 and KF3”.

One More Title for Maxter
In 2009, Maxter conquered most major titles in the international calendar: European Super KF Championship (Vainio), World Cup for KZ1 (Thonon), World Championship Super KF (Kozlinski) and WSK Super KF (Kozlinski). “These top categories are a real testing ground for engine brands” Nico Carigiet stressed. “They allow us to continuously develop our know-how and increase reliability, in order to apply our progress to engines used in lower categories: KF2, KF3 or KZ2 in particular“.

At this level, the WSK puts engines heavily to the test, with finals that last for 40 km in Super KF. Arnaud Kozlinski had a demonstration of that. “The best lap times I set during the Super Pole in just one full-speed lap and the result in the final prove that we succeeded in combining performance and reliability. It was the key to our success throughout the season and it is also very encouraging for the future, considering the forthcoming homologation this winter“.

In Lonato, Brandon Maisano showed a great performance at the wheel of his LH-Maxter. After a duel for a podium finish, he crossed the finishing line 4th, which was also his place in the final classification of the WSK.
