Victory for De Conto, Two Podiums for Moller-Madsen

During winter, Energy did not rest on its (many) 2009 laurels, but carefully prepared this new season. Michele Panigada’s team left nothing to chance and the first results did not take long to arrive, at the Winter Cup as well as at the first meeting of the WSK.

A victory at the opening event of the WSK Euro Series: the Energy Corse team could not have dreamed of a better start to this very difficult international competition, with all the major teams involved. Paolo De Conto does not have the experience of the best world drivers, but he kept the pace of Lammers and Thonon (both racing in KZ1) throughout the final race. He had already been the fastest of all KZ drivers in one heat. His performance allowed him to largely win the KZ2 category, on the well-known Italian circuit of La Conca. “Reaching the first step of the podium after a difficult fight against these extraordinary drivers, well, it was like a dream come true”, the Italian driver said. “I must say that my chassis helped me a great deal, with its incredible effectiveness during the whole week”. The German karter secured a double success for Energy in KZ2, thus showing again the potential of the new TM KZ10 and the excellent job done by engine mechanic Rizzi. Swedish driver Joel Johansson (on his first season in KZ2), completed Energy’s collective success with his fifth place.

German champion in 2009, Nicolaj Moller-Madsen continues to show his Energy suit on international podiums. The Danish driver was third at the Winter Cup in Lonato as well as in the WSK in Muro Leccese. “There, I really thought I could win. But then I was pushed, just when I had regained the second place and I was driving faster than the leader”. Moller-Madsen posted the best lap of the final, with his Energy chassis and TM engines prepared by GKS.

At its first races in 2010, the Energy brand was equally well represented by the British team JRP and by Jedi, Energy importer in Germany. Drivers such as Mitchell Gilbert, Jordan King or Sergey Sirotkin often drew attention in KF2, and so did Paul-Loup Chatin, Kevin Wolters and Marco Tulio Silva Souza. In KF3, Luca Caspari, Ville Mantyla (11th at the Winter Cup), Dennis Olsen, Fabian Schiller and Gilles Beckord confirmed the attraction power of the Italian brand.
