The 2012 Adac Formel Masters season ended on the famous German circuit of Hockenheim. Beiske Visser’s competition was made difficult by her hand, which still hurt after an accident she suffered during the Lausitzring event. But the Dutch driver resorted to all her talent and determination to battle in the lead pack. On three occasions, she scored the points awarded to the sixth place. Thus Beitske Visser saved her 8th place in the final classification of the Championship, despite her many vicissitudes during the year.

In 2012, Beitske Visser competed on several among the most prestigious circuits in Europe, such as Nürburgring, Zandvoort, Oschersleben, Red Bull Ring, and Hockenheim as a conclusion. «I broke my hand in late August at the Lausitzring and unfortunately I had to forfeit the 15-16 September competition. When I arrived in Hockenheim, my hand was still painful and I was not at 100% to drive my car», the fast Dutch driver pointed out.
At the end of the qualifying session, Beitske was 7th, very close to the two drivers who preceded her, and set rather encouraging times in those conditions. In Race 1, the Lotus driver proved to be very competitive by setting the second fastest lap time and crossed the finish line 6th. «Then, in Race 2, I was again very fast. Unfortunately I had to brake hard to avoid a collision. I lost some time and was only 9th after the first lap. I had to fight hard to regain the sixth place».

Aiming for the Podium

Beitske Visser was determined to take advantage of her third place on the grid of Race 3 and did indeed an excellent beginning of race. On the 4th lap, she was tenth. «I really hoped I could finish the season with a podium. But this time I did not feel very comfortable in the car. My times were no longer that good and I slipped down to sixth». Therefore Beitske Visser, one of the most talented female drivers of her generation, ended her 2012 season in 8th place.

Encouraging Results

«The Adac Formel Masters Championship is an excellent training ground and this first season in car racing has really taught me a lot. I have learnt so much with the Lotus team. I managed to win two races, but I also had quite a few rounds of bad luck. Due to my back and hand injuries, I missed two of eight meetings in 2012. In these conditions, it was no longer possible to aim for the top 3 overall. But despite all these events, my determination is still very strong and I feel ready to take on new challenges in 2013 and to continue to win», the 17-year old Dutch driver concluded.
