The French F4 Championship raises it’s profile

To date nearly twenty drivers are already entered for the championship and a few places are still up for grabs for drivers who want to compete with the talented athletes who already make up the grid in 2014.

Among the competitors this season there is Dorian Boccolacci with his very flattering 2013 record in karting, as well as Valentin Moineault and Erwan Julé, all three of whom are from the 10-15 Program, established in 2009 by the FFSA, and then the Equipe de France FFSA Karting in 2013. They are joined by Bryan Elpitiya who arrives straight from the 10-15 Programme, Valentin Hasse-Clot, Tom Soubiron, Amaury Richard and Hugo Sugnot-Darniche, grandson of the famous rally driver Bernard Darniche. These young drivers are hoping to mount the podium and hear the French national anthem.

Drivers from abroad are numerous with the British driver Felix Hirsiger and the Swedes Reuben Kressner and Paul Hokfelt Jr, the latter having already raced last year at Magny Cours and Ledenon. The Australian Joseph Mawson, the Colombian Juan Manuel Jimenez Silva and the two Russians Denis Bulatov and Vladimir Atoev also fully intend to stamp their mark on the 2014 championship. Switzerland will be represented by Gjergj Haxhiu and David Droux while Finland brings the young Simo Laaksen.

They all hope to do as well as the very talented Anthoine Hubert, the French F4 Champion of 2013 who broke all the records last season with no less than eleven wins, 13 podiums and 152 laps in the lead of the race!

In this very affordable championship for young drivers, with the help of partners Auto Sport Academy, the cost of the 2014 season will be 70,200 euros including tax or 58,500 euros without tax. This very competitive championship saw the debut, let us remember, of many now professional drivers such as Jean Eric Vergne, Charles Pic, Benoit Treluyer, Romain Dumas and Loïc Duval, winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and Endurance World Champion in 2013.

The French F4 Championship consists of seven meetings with the FFSA GT Tour and the World Series by Renault. Each meeting includes a free practice session, a qualifying session and three races for a total of twenty-one confrontations!
