Suleiman Zanfari, the young hope of Moroccan karting

Carrying the colours of Morocco at the highest possible international level remains one of the main motivations of Suleiman Zanfari and his family. The Kingdom has already been highlighted in the firmament of world sport in various disciplines such as athletics, boxing, tennis and football. Suleiman’s ambition to contribute to the sporting and media visibility of his country continues in this line thanks to his results in motorsport. Just 10 years old, he has had the opportunity to get noticed in karting in the categories for young drivers.

Suleiman Zanfari already has experience in competition karting. In fact he started from the age of eight years in the 60 Baby category in Italy. He then explored 60 Mini and Mini Rotax Max in different countries (Italy, Austria, USA, …) and developed his skills with a very open mind and an unusual analytical ability. He now has the maturity to reap the fruits of a very full race programme in 2016.

Suleiman is not an ordinary boy. For his 10 years, he has extensive knowledge of motorsport in general and karting in particular. He is unbeatable on the performance of a large number of drivers and is very interested in everything about racing with an unusual seriousness for his age. He is also involved in the organisation of his own racing and in the workings of his equipment, passionate about perfect lines and clear races where he won without challenge by the sheer force of talent.

To put the odds on his side, Suleiman’s entourage works particularly hard on the young driver’s conditioning. This is why he is part of the Campos Academy, the training structure of the Adrian Campos Racing Team, for his physical preparation and simulator work. Suleiman also trains with PSG Academy, well established in Morocco. He is accompanied by a renowned coach, Xavier Pompidou, and regularly enjoys good advice from great champions like Davide Fore.

The young Moroccan has a busy race programme in 2016 with over twenty competitions worldwide. Italy, the home of karting, logically takes up much of his sporting calendar with the seven WSK events and three of the new KRS series. In the Italian 60 Mini races, Suleiman will race an Energy chassis with an IAME Parilla engine as an official driver for Giuliano Kart. Suleiman will race with other teams in several races in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Spain, France, Great Britain, Japan, Portugal and Sweden, and will compete in the final of the US Open before the Supernationals in Las Vegas, alternating Rotax Mini Max, X30 Mini and Cadet.

The first competitions of the 2016 season have already shown good progress in Suleiman’s performance. His mental strength and thoroughness of preparation make him an indisputable hope for Moroccan sport in the wake of his elder Sami Taoufik who is shining in Juniors.
