Positive energy!
In 2008, many pilots have joined Energy Corse Team. With a list of awards already very long, despite its recent creation, this Italian brand has made its season debut in WSK and has already obtained excellent results thanks to the hard work carried out by the whole technical staff…

In just few years, Energy Corse has established a reputation as one of the best high level teams in international karting. After a double victory in 125/ICC European Championship, in 2004 with Ricardo Van der Ende and in 2006 with Ernst Behrens, Energy Team has continued to collect podiums and victories, season after season, especially in 125cc gearbox categories (ICC / KZ2): two French Championships (2004 and 2007), winner of Viking Trophy 2007, Vice European Champion in 2003 and 2005, Vice European Champion Rotax Max Junior in 2003 and Rotax Max Senior in 2005, etc.

“In every race, on each circuit, we leave nothing to fate”, said Michele Panigada, Energy Corse Team Manager. “We pay a lot of attention to the quality of our products and our chassis is manufactured to meet the requirements of high level competition”. Energy can also count on high performing engines, thanks, for example, to its solid partnership with Rizzi.

In 2008, Energy Corse can count on an even stronger team than last year and victory will be the main objective of its pilots, following French Tony Lavanant’s footsteps. “During my career, I have often had the chance to compete against Energy pilots and I have always been impressed by the competitiveness of their material. This is why I decided to join again this team in 2007. During my first season in Energy Team I had problems with my back but now I am looking for my revenge in 2008”.

For Lavanant and Energy, this season has started in a very positive way in WSK, in Angerville (France). “The competition level was incredibly high”, said Tony. “There were pilots who usually race in KZ2, but also most of those who compete in KZ1. Taking the lead of the race after the qualifying heats, ahead of pilots like Thonon, Toninelli, Dreezen or Ardigo was really an excellent performance. The circuit of Angerville is very technical and really brings out the value of a chassis. I think we have a top quality material, which will enable us to be competitive in the next few races”.

After dueling for leadership with the best pilots, Lavanant climbed to 2nd position in the pre-final and was 4th in the final. He is now third in WSK provisional ranking! Kevin Jansen’s performance (Fly Kart Team) in this round was also remarkable. The Dutch pilot even won a heat and kept his place in the Top 10 in the final phase. “This is encouraging, with a view to the first round of the European Championship, due to be held on this same circuit of Angerville in early May” added Michele Panigada. “In addition to excellent results in KZ2, our pilots are also showing what they are capable of all over Europe, in KF2, KF3 as well as Rotax Max”. We will certainly hear again about Energy chassis and its competition team…
