New experience and new success for Bogdan Cosma-Cristofor
The 2023 WSK Promotion series came to an end at Franciacorta in northern Italy with the WSK Final Cup, during which Bogdan Cosma-Cristofor took part for the first time in the new FIA Karting category: OK-N Junior. The Final was a magnificent spectacle, with several drivers determined to reach the podium. At the end of a performance conducted with speed, control and fighting spirit, the young Romanian driver was finally declared the winner!
What a success…
Bogdan Cosma-Cristofor has just had an absolutely incredible two months, marked by seven consecutive podium finishes, including five victories: 2nd place in the last round of the Italian Championship, victory and title in the Romanian Championship, victory in the Rok Superfinal, 2nd place in the IAME World Final, victory and title in the WSK Euro Series, then two consecutive victories in the two rounds of the WSK Final Cup. Few drivers can boast such a track record in just a few weeks! After finishing his Mini career on a high at the beginning of November, he has just had the opportunity to show that he is now a Junior driver to watch closely.
Bogdan learns quickly and well
On 19th November, Bogdan’s discovery of the X30 Junior category ended with a convincing success. A few days later, Bogdan Cosma-Cristofor took up a new challenge by entering the OK-N Junior class at the WSK Final Cup in Franciacorta. The Romanian had to get used to a new engine and new tyres, but he soon found himself among the fastest: 6th fastest in the Qualifying session, 3rd after the Qualifying Heats thanks to P3, P3 and P2 finishes, then P2 in the Prefinal. Once again, Bogdan was able to apply the advice of his entire team with the same determination he shows at every race.
Constant duels and a successful end to the race
Third on the grid for the Final, Bogdan Cosma-Cristofor got off to an excellent start and was 2nd on the first lap at the wheel of his KR-IAME. But a number of other drivers got in the way of victory, leading to constant changes of position. Careful not to overheat his tyres, the Team Driver Racing Kart driver developed a rigorous strategy, analysing the situation perfectly, before attacking at the right moment and showing himself to be fearsomely fast in the closing laps. After a fine effort, he came back to 2nd place and, following a final decision by the stewards, clinched victory on the wire.
Winning the two WSK Final Cup events in two different categories doesn’t happen very often, and this is yet another top-class performance from the 12-year-old, who is enjoying a stunning end to his season with three consecutive Championships in the prestigious WSK Promotion series!
“I’m really happy with this victory and I really want to thank all my supporters: David De Luchi, team manager of Driver Racing Kart, my coach Dragos Gulie, my mechanics Catalin Caloianu and Francesco Bruno, Alberto and Julio for my IAME engines, the International school of Bucharest, the Romanian Karting Federation, not forgetting my partners, One United Properties, Black Fire, Miko Med, Miko Dental, Miko Beauty and Urban Automobile,” added Bogdan.
