Loïc Reguillon At the Top of World Leadership
Last 21st of September, in Southern Italy, Loïc Reguillon had an appointment with history. At the end of a spotless and extraordinarily effective performance, this talented driver from Equipe de France ranked 4th at the World Cup for KF2, that is the best result ever achieved by a Frenchman in this race.

Loïc Reguillon’s karting career continues along its positive trend. After winning at regional level, then at the French Championship, Loïc has now revealed his qualities on the European scene and has shown all his talent by fighting fiercely at the top of world ranking. “The excellent results I have achieved in 2008 allowed me to qualify for this World Cup”, said Loïc. “I was very keen to take part in this competition and I came to Italy particularly determined”.

Already during free practice, Loïc confirmed his excellent shape and reached several times the head of the timesheets. Focusing on his objective, he set his fourth best time in timed qualifying. “With 90 entered participants, the important thing was to reach the leading group from the very beginning. With the Braun Racing Team, we found the perfect setup for our equipment based on track conditions”. But the race was long and difficult, with five qualifying heats per driver, a pre-final and a final that proved to be decisive for the final result. Every time, Loïc Reguillon showed his burst of speed and his fighting spirit. This driver was definitely ready to aim at an important result at the wheel of his Sodi-Parilla.

“The heats were very hard fought. In each of them, I conquered a good ranking and the team had a chance to add a few additional finishing touches to my equipment adjustment”. Brilliantly third after the qualifying heats, Loïc had definitely found his place among the best world promises. In the pre-final, tension reached its peak on the Muro Leccese circuit, with several collisions in the pack. Loïc made a good start, but was diverted from his trajectory a few laps later and lost some ranks. “I managed to keep my fifth place, so I could start from the internal row in the final. Then, I pushed to the maximum because I really wanted to achieve a good result”.

Loïc was secretly dreaming of a podium, but knew it would be difficult. “Even if we had some precious help from French manufacturer Sodikart, I belong to a private team, Braun Racing, and we compete against factory teams, which have remarkable means at their disposal”. However, Loïc made miracles and his spotless performance ended with a 4th place in this highly competitive World Cup. “At some point, I had the driver in third position just ahead of me and I could almost overtake him. In any case, conquering the fourth place at a world event and being the best Frenchman was a fantastic result, although I came very close to the top 3. I would like to thank all my partners, my team, the physiotherapists and Equipe de France, which supported me on this very “physical” circuit as well as Jean-Mary Demondion (DGS) who has been with me since my debut in karting”. En Italy Loïc Reguillon’s performance did not go unnoticed! During this World Cup, the driver from Normandy proved that the world of car races should keep an eye on him…
