On the Viana track in Portugal, Intrepid had the honour of providing the karts for the whole Senior field in the 7th Rotax Mojo Max Challenge Grand Final. No less than 68 chasses were sent out to the Iberian Peninsula. This new partnership with Rotax proved to be a huge success, as the Italian factory’s boss Mirko Sguerzoni explained. “We are proud and delighted to have been selected by Rotax for this major final, which has achieved world status and attracts drivers from all over the globe. Benefiting from a strong brand image, Rotax products are exported to markets throughout the world. We wanted to demonstrate the keen interest that Intrepid takes in this category, which has thousands of participants”.

The factory worked flat out to manufacture and assemble these chasses. A number of factory personnel were despatched on the spot to ensure that all went well with the machines and to provide valuable technical assistance to the drivers and teams present.

Winner of the 2006 edition of the Formula A World Cup, the Cruiser chassis wowed the Senior drivers in Portugal, despite the inclement weather. Belgian champion Christophe Adams had this to say. “It’s never easy when you discover a chassis just before a race, but I must say I was surprised by its handling and simplicity to drive. The Cruiser was a perfect fit for the characteristics of the Rotax engine. Whether racing on the dry or the wet, it reacted very well to all our set up adjustments. What’s more, Intrepid has come up with a great new set of decals”. The new chassis sticker kits were designed by the same designer as Valentino Rossi’s !
Following the unqualified success of this partnership with Rotax, Intrepid intends to increase its involvement in the category, especially the Rotax Mojo Max Euro Challenge. “For 2007, we are going to set up a course support facility especially for Rotax, as well as a ‘Junior Team’, just like we do in the CIK category”, added Mirko Sguerzoni. “We are delighted to announce that South African driver Wesleigh Orr, who has several Rotax titles to his name, has decided to race in our colours and to help us with chassis development”. The Intrepid range also includes the DD2 model, featuring a novel transmission system.
After a very successful 2006 season, Intrepid is ready to take up new challenges, starting with the Challenge Rotax Max…
