Fly Kart Wins with Jansen
Fly Kart and Energy finished their European season on a high note. Leader at the end of the qualifying heats, the Dutch driver Kevin Jansen dominated the race from the beginning to the end and with his two victories he conquered the title of European vice champion behind Lavanant. A brilliant double success for Energy!

Fly Kart’s team manager Alberto Tonti had quite a few reasons to be happy about at Varennes sur Allier, on Sunday evening. Once again, many of his drivers achieved excellent results, while Kevin Jansen made sparks fly in the lead pack of the race. “I was really satisfied with my equipment both on Saturday, in the wet, and on Sunday, in the dry” said the Dutch driver during the podium ceremony. “In Race 1 everything was perfect because I remained in the lead from the first to the last lap. My Energy-TM kart was equally fast in Race 2, so I won again and ranked second in the European Championship. Brilliant!”

In constant progression since the qualifying heats, the two Norwegian drivers Kenneth Ostvold and Christian Krognes also set excellent times during the final phase. Unfortunately when Ostvold went back to the top 10, he was forced to abandon the race after a collision, while Krognes added another good performance to Energy-Fly Kart Team’s overall results with a comfortable 5th place and climbed to 13th place of the European Championship.

In the same time range as Jansen during timed practice, Kevin Leijtens kept his ranking in the qualifying phase. With his level of performance, he hoped to score some more points in the championship, but he had back luck on Sunday afternoon.
“Our drivers have learned a lot from this European Championship and all this experience will be very useful next year. Many of them still have some good cards to play in 2009. I would also like to stress the success of our partnership with Energy”, Alberto Tonti concluded.

Comments by Alberto Tonti, in charge of Fly Kart Team

“Kevin Jansen’s performances have constantly grown since the beginning of the year. At Angerville as well at Mariembourg, he came very close to a podium. This time he did not miss the opportunity: he won the two races and finished second in the Championship ranking. Our other drivers were also very competitive and this is all very encouraging for the future of our team”.
