European Performances
Long awaited by all observers, the European KF1 Championship has confirmed once again that the Sodi chassis in one of the protagonists on the international scene. Anthony Abbasse was determined to repeat his excellence performances, but unfortunately he had some problems with his engine. Always close on the heels of his team mate, Alban Varutti brilliantly took the baton and twice reached the very much coveted top 10, on the French circuit of Angerville.

Alban Varutti: We Are Very Competitive

When he left Angerville at the tenth position of the European Championship ranking, Alban Varutti was very satisfied with his weekend. “I finished 10th and 9th in the two finals and therefore I could score important points for the Championship. At the wheel of our Sodi chassis, both Anthony and I were really fast during the final phase. Pity we could not set better times during timed practice, but it is true that time gaps were very small. There were only four tenths of difference between the first and the 25th positions! The important thing is that the Sodi chassis is doing well and we know that the best is still to come”.

Anthony Abbasse: “I felt really comfortable with my chassis”

At Angerville, Abbasse climbed to 8th position in race 1, but when he started to put some pressure on the group of pilots preceding him, his engine wouldn’t help him. “I felt really confident about my equipment, as I always do when I drive Sodi. In the qualifying round already, I was one of the fastest pilots. In the first heat on Saturday, I set the third best time in the race. I felt very optimistic, because I was completely satisfied with the chassis. A month after my victory in the WSK final, at Angerville, I would have liked to obtain more good results for my team, but something happened at the wrong time, when I was doing really well!”

Two Best Laps for Da Silva
In KZ2, Benjamin Da Silva showed at Angerville that he is really a competitive pilot. “I don’t have much experience in the 125cc gearbox categories yet, because I only left KF2 last year. But the driving easiness of Sodi SR5 BV B8 chassis really helped me to reach the final, despite the presence of as many as 104 pilots in this category”, Benjamin commented. During the heats, he often fought in the top 6 and, also thanks to one of the most performing chassis, he twice set the best lap during qualifying practice and once he preceded the best pilot in this category, British Hawsworth. Da Silva was also second in his group during the warm-up, on Sunday morning.

The Return of Pierre-Henri Nanot
After several excellent results in the early 2000s, Nanot is now back in the paddocks, after dedicating himself to his professional career for a few years. “I decided to start straight from the European KF1 Championship and I knew that things wouldn’t be easy for me”, Pierre-Henri declared. “However, I was very happy to find the Braun Racing team again and to discover an excellent chassis like Sodi SR5. I am really looking forward to see its full potential…”

A Danish Pilot for Sodi
Marketed and well-known all over the world, the Sodi brand enjoys a steadily growing reputation, thanks to its numerous successes on the international scene. In Denmark, Dam Racing Team has been using Sodi chassis for a few years now and it is young Thomas Dam who represents this team in KF1.
