Energy Fly Very High
After the two victories of Pekka Seppänen in KZ2 and Joel Johansson in KF2 in the Viking Trophy, the second round of the European KZ2 Championship confirmed the competitiveness of Energy drivers. The team Fly Kart, Energy’s partner, played a major role in this series of good results.

Besides the victory of Tony Lavanant and the podium of Mathias Gallepe, Energy did extremely well also thanks to the performances of Fly Kart pilots. Dutch Kevin Jansen won the pole in timed qualifying. “Kevin is a very promising pilot” stated team manager Alberto Tonti. “He was fourth twice at the beginning of the European Championship at Angerville and would have deserved the podium at Mariembourg”. Jansen started from the first row next to Tony Lavanant in race 1 thanks to two victories in the heats and a best lap and maintained the third position for a long while. Unfortunately, another driver pushed him two laps before the end and Kevin ended sixth. Jansen kept his position in race 2 and he now ranks fourth in the European Championship, where three Energy pilots are in the four top positions.

Jansen’s team mates took advantage of the competitiveness of Energy-TM karts. Kenneth Ostvold, Kevin Leijtens and Christian Krognes did very well in the qualifying rounds and ended 8th, 12th and 13th in the first final. This means that there were as many as 6 karts in the top 13. Even if Ostvold had bad luck in the second final, Krognes (11th) and Leijtens (14th) scored very important points for the Championship. “It was an extremely favourable weekend for Energy and Fly Kart”, continued Alberto Tonti. “I would like to congratulate the pilots and the technical staff for the victories and excellent performances in the European Championship in Belgium and in the Viking Trophy in Finland”.

Energy Double Victory in the Viking Trophy
Pekka Seppänen demonstrated all his strength and value at the Viking Trophy, held on 14 and 15 June on the Kimi de Lappeenranta racetrack in Finland. After taking the lead in the first heat, he continued his brilliant performance until the end of the final, and set the best lap in a heat and in the pre-final. Energy’s karts brilliant performances were completed by the second position of Norwegian Kenneth Ostvold, who gave a double victory to the Italian brand. The third Energy-Fly Kart driver, Christian Krognes did well too with a sixth place in the second pre-final.

Winner in the Netherlands
On 15 June Kevin Leijtens brilliantly won the KZ2 race for the Dutch national championship (NAB) on the racetrack of Emmen. Energy and Fly Kart Team could even have obtained a double victory, had Kevin Jansen not been betrayed by the engine.

Michele Panigada, Energy’s team manager said:
“The work accomplished on the materials and the quality of our structure continue to bear fruits. I’m extremely satisfied with the results obtained since the beginning of the season, in the European Championship, in WSK, in the Viking Trophy and in many countries, where the number of drivers choosing our brand in all categories (KZ, KF, Rotax…) is constantly growing…”
