Another International Success for Energy

Exactly two weeks after winning the Trofeo Andrea Margutti in KZ2 with British driver Jack Hawksworth, the Energy-Fly Kart Team led young Swedish kartman Mans Grenhagen to victory in KF2, at the third WSK round at Castelletto. The Energy brand is definitely everywhere in international karting…

The influence of Italian brand Energy is growing year after year. After becoming a reference point in 125/KZ2, where it gained several victories and many European titles, the Energy chassis has confirmed to be a sure value also in the 125cc categories without a gearbox (KF2, KF3, Rotax Max…).
“Our objective was to leave nothing to chance, because competition is increasingly stronger at international level”, commented Michael Panigada, the Team Manager. “It is for this reason that we pay special attention to the quality of our equipment, both from a manufacturing and presentation viewpoint”.
And now, every time that the Energy Corse Team assembles its superb and vast facility on a circuit, it is not just to make a good impression. Observers realised that at Castelletto, where the Italian team’s drivers played the leading role on 4 and 5 April in the WSK. In KF2, the Mans Grenhagen-Joel Johansson-Nicolaj Moller Madsen trio showed performances of excellent level.
During timed qualifiers, Swedish Johansson set the second best time, two places ahead of Danish Moller Madsen. The heats confirmed the competitiveness of Energy-TM karts. Winner of the Viking Trophy 2008 with Energy, Johansson gained two qualifying heats with a best lap, but lost precious points when he abandoned during the last heat, after breaking the starter ring gear.
Then his compatriot Mans Grenhagen took his place in the lead pack. Fourth on the pre-final start grid, he proved to be very competitive already during the first laps and was quickly at the lead with the Kinetic model of the Energy range. From then on, he had nobody to worry about both in the pre-final and in the final. “In 2008 I was still in KF3 and it is great to achieve a victory so fast at a higher level. The team did a great job and I really benefited from this very effective equipment from the first lap to the last. It allowed me to manage my race pretty calmly, because I won the pre-final with a two-second advantage and the final again with a strong advantage”.
“Johansson and Moller Madsen were not very lucky on Sunday, a pity, because results could have been even better for the team”, said Alberto Tonti, one of the people in charge of the team. “But congratulations to Grenhagen, who exploited very well the potential of his equipment, which has been fully satisfactory since the very beginning of the season”.
