Junior Super Heats for Costoya and Craigie

The atmosphere was very different from the previous Sunday morning under the clouds at Kristianstad. There was 17° on the thermometer, a dry track which made it possible to consider fitting slick tyres given the good grip on the track.

Super Heat A: Costoya dominates
Christian Costoya (Parolin/TM) had rightly chosen to start from the outside. He was already 1.7″ ahead of Filippo Sala (LN/TM) on the first lap, followed by Niklas Schaufler (KR/Iame) and Benjamin Manach Klisowski (KR/Iame). Thomas Pradier (Tony Kart/Vortex) had retired. Noah Baglin (KR/Iame) was back in 4th place after a very average start, while Louis Cochet (KR/Iame) was up to 6th. At the halfway stage, Costoya had extended his lead to over 2” over Sala and Baglin, 1” further back. Manuel Miguel (CRG/Iame) was in 11th place. Costoya was 2.8 seconds ahead of Sala, Baglin followed at 6 tenths, Manach was 4th ahead of Schaufler and Cochet retained P6. Tobias Szecsenyi (Exprit/TM) had made up 20 places to 13th.

Super Heat B: Craigie very comfortable on a wet track
Wet tyres were the order of the day, even though the rain had stopped. Thanks to an excellent start, Ilie Crisan (Tony Kart/Vortex) immediately took the lead from Joel Pohjola (Tony Kart/Vortex). Dries van Langendonck (Exprit/TM) was 3rd ahead of Kenzo Craigie (KR/Iame) and Dean Hoogendoorn (KR/Iame). Iacopo Martinese (KR/Iame) crashed out at the back of the field. Kit Belofsky (KR/Iame) had moved up 17 places to 6th ahead of William Calleja (Parolin/TM). Craigie took control on lap 5, with van Langendonck following in 2nd and working to close the gap. Belofsky moved up to 3rd, passing Crisan. Aloïs Girardet (Energy/TM) returned to the park. Craigie worked hard to increase his advantage and set the fastest time, while Belofsky caught up with van Langendonck and passed him on the line. Craigie won the race by 1.485″. Belofsky was 2nd, van Langendonck 3rd. Crisan finished 4th by more than a second, then Pohjola 5th ahead of Rocco Coronel (KR/Iame) and Hoogendoorn.
