Lehtimaki takes OK-Junior pole position at Val d’Argenton

It was overcast at Val d’Argenton on Thursday lunchtime as OK-Junior Qualifying for the Champions of the Future Euro Series #2 got underway on a dry track.

Session 1: Lehtimaki – 51”137
Kenzo Craigie (KR/Iame), who had already clocked under 52s, was fastest on the first lap ahead of Niklas Schaufler (KR/Iame). The hierarchy was confirmed on the following lap, but Sebastien Lehtimaki (Tony Kart/TM) finally set the fastest time – 51”137 – on the third lap. Devin Walz (Exprit/TM) followed at 0.127”, then Craigie 3rd, Schaufler 4th and Asher Ochstein (CRG/Iame) 5th. Aloïs Girardet (Energy/TM) finished 15th. The fourth lap brought no improvement.

Group 2: Calleja – 51”424
At the end of the first lap, Dries van Langendonck (Exprit/TM) ahead of Michael Mcgaughy (Tony Kart/TM). Jiang Hou Zai (LN/TM) then took the lead, but William Calleja (Parolin/TM) finished 1st with a third lap time of 51”424. Van Langendonck was 2nd at 53 thousandths, Hou Zai 3rd, Roman Kamyab (LN/TM) 4th and Daniel Kelleher (KR/Iame) 5th. Théo Battisti (Sodi/TM) finished 31st.

Session 3: Sala – 51”583
Kosei Oguma (KR/Iame) made his mark on the first lap against Filippo Sala (LN/TM) and Rocco Coronel (KR/Iame). Sala then overtook Coronel on the second lap and finished in the lead with his third lap in 51”583. Kacper Rajpold (Tony Kart/TM) came back to 2nd on lap 4, 23 thousandths down, followed by Jack Illife (Parolin/TM) and Qarrar Firhand (Parolin/TM). Oguma finished 5th, Coronel 6th and Christian Costoya (Parolin/TM) 7th. Louis Cochet (KR/Iame) returned to the top 10, Thomas Pradier finished 19th and Matéo Rivals (Sodi/TM) 31st.
