KZ2 Final: Birel ART doubles up, Bertuca wins

The temperature hovered around 10°C on Sunday afternoon in Lonato for the KZ2 Final of the WSK Super Master Series.

Cristian Bertuca (Birel ART/TM) led ahead of his team-mate Pedro Hiltbrand (Birel ART/TM), while Alex Maragliano (Sodi/TM) was 3rd ahead of Andrea Dalé (CRG/TM) and Daniel Vasile (Birel ART/TM). Tom Leuillet (Tony Kart/Vortex) and Mattéo Spirgel (Sodi/TM) followed in 6th and 7th places. Maragliano quickly overtook Hiltbrand to take P2. Bertuca was 8 tenths clear. Maksim Orlov (Parolin/TM) moved up to 7th ahead of Markus Kajak (Maranello/TM) with the fastest time of the day. Hiltbrand regained 2nd place, which he had recently lost to Maragliano, who also had to concede to Vasile’s onslaught. The leader Bertuca had a 1.5″ lead at the halfway stage. Adrien Renaudin (DR/Modena) retired on the 11th lap. Hiltbrand dropped back to 5th on the 16th lap. Bertuca managed to finish the race safely 7 tenths ahead of his team-mate Vasile. Dalé was once again on the podium at his favourite circuit. Orlov took 4th place with the fastest lap ahead of Leuillet. Celian Gallasin (CRG/TM) finished 16th ahead of Spirgel, while Emilien Denner did not finish the race.
