Under-10 Prefinals for Perico and Palacio

The weather remained cold on Sunday morning in Lonato, despite the sun, for the Mini U10 Prefinals of the WSK Champions Cup.

Prefinal A: a hard-fought victory for Perico
Niccolo Perico (Energy/TM) held on to 1st place ahead of Patrick Bissa (EKS/TM) and Lorenzo Di Pietrantonio (Parolin/Iame), who quickly moved up to 2nd. Leon Chelidze (KR/Iame) was 4th ahead of Jason Kosmopoulos (TG Group/TM). Di Pietrantonio took the lead on the third lap ahead of Perico, with Bissa back in 3rd by 6 tenths. Jean Poujol (Parolin/Iame) was 7th. Perico regained the lead halfway through the race, while Bissa caught up with the first two. Perico took the win ahead of Bissa. Lazaro Xavier (DR/TM) moved up to 3rd ahead of Di Pietantonio and Chelidze. Poujol was back in contact in 6th position, while Mathis Brageot (Parolin/TM) finished 16th.

Prefinal B: Moscardi in the finish
Lucas Palaccio (KR/Iame) maintained his lead on the first lap over Lorenzo Leopardi (Birel ART/TM), Mason Robertson (Parolin/Iame) and David Moscari (Birel ART/TM). The slow procedure was initiated before the end of the first lap, but this did not prevent a collision in the field. Seven karts were out, but no driver was seriously injured. The race was restarted for two laps. Moscardi immediately moved up to 2nd and eventually took the win ahead of Leopardi. But these two drivers were then penalised by 3” for overtaking during the neutralisation and it was Palacio who was declared the winner. Robertson was 2nd and Mark Loomets (Energy/TM) 3rd in this truncated race.
