Superb OK Final in Lonato: Bondarev wins ahead of Eyckmans

Guy Albag (KR/Iame) took the lead on the first lap from Oleksandr Bondarev (KR/Iame) and Salim Hanna (KR/Iame). Ean Eyckmans (Birel ART/TM) jumped up to 2nd place on the second lap, with Malo Bolliet (KR/Iame) 4th (+6 places) ahead of Hanna. Gerasim Skulanov (KR/Iame) had moved up nine places to 6th. Eyckmans took the lead ahead of Bondarev and Albag on the fourth lap. Anatoly Khavalkin (Parolin/TM) came back to 4th ahead of Skulanov, while Bolliet lost ground and retired. Bondarev attacked to take P1 from Eyckmans on lap 8. The Belgian didn’t give up despite the Ukrainian’s speed. Eyckmans then upped the pace to close on the leader. Hanna was back in 4th place ahead of Skulanov. Bondarev won the race 0.240″ ahead of Eyckmans. Albag was 3rd at 4”, Hanna 4th 9 tenths further back and Skulanov 5th. Eyckmans was penalised by 3″ and swapped 2nd place with Albag. Hugo Herrouin (KR/Iame) had moved up 10 places to 22nd, with Andy Consani (Sodi/TM) finishing 26th.
