Mini Prefinal: Blandino wins again

The weather was downright chilly at 1°C in Lonato for the Mini Prefinal of the WSK Champions Cup. Cristian Blandino (Tgroup/TM) kept his P1 at the start, followed by Matteis Stigsen (Tgroup/TM) and Mark Pilipenko (Parolin/Iame). Stigsen lost ground, William Calleja (Parolin/Iame) was back in 3rd ahead of Daniel Miron Lorente (KR/Iame) and Albert Tamm (Parolin/Iame). Alessandro Truchot (Parolin/Iame) was 14th (up six places), while Zack Zhu (EKS/TM) had made up seven places to 18th by the halfway stage. Blandino had escaped, with Calleja in hot pursuit. On the eighth lap, Blandino seemed to be losing ground and Miron Lorente took the lead for a moment, but Blandino recovered to beat Calleja, who was then penalised 7th. Pilipenko was 2nd, Tamm 3rd and Oleksandr Legenkyi (KR/Iame) 4th. Zhu crashed out in 30th position.
