Incredibly close Micro MAX Final – Chalk wins

There were no worries about the sunshine on Saturday morning in Bahrain during the Finals of the RMCGF 2023. A pleasant temperature of 23° accompanied the Micro MAX Final.

Oliver Spencer (GBR) immediately took the lead over Lucas Palacio (USA) and Emerson MacAndrew Uren (GBR). Jenson Chalk (GBR) and Patrikas Jocius (LTU) returned to the top five ahead of Edward Haynes (GBR). The battle was on between Spencer and Palacio, who were slightly ahead of the group of five chasing them. MacAndrew Uren worked hard to bridge the gap and was up to 2nd by the halfway mark. Haynes had moved up to 4th ahead of Jocius and Chalk. MacAndrew Uren took 1st place on lap 8 of the 12-lap race, with Haynes 3rd behind Spencer. Spencer took the lead on lap 9, while MacAndrew Uren crashed out in last place. Back in 2nd, Haynes made a move on Spencer and took the lead on the penultimate lap. The final lap was epic. Palacio took an incredible victory over Spencer and Chalk. Andreas Kjellerup (DNK) took P4 just ahead of Haynes. Palacio was then disqualified for a technical problem, Spencer was penalised by 5” and it was therefore Chalk who was declared the winner ahead of Kjellerup and Haynes.
