Veerus, the DD2 MAX winner

The last Final of the RMCGF 2023 in Bahrain was in the DD2 MAX category, with Leonardo Baccaglini (ITA) and Jakub Bezel (CZE) on the front row. Bezel managed to get ahead of Baccaglini on the first lap. Xen De Ruwe (SVN) quickly moved up to 2nd ahead of Baccaglini. Victor Frost Bay (DNK) was 4th ahead of Rasmus Vendelbo (DNK). Baccaglini made an incursion on the outside of the track on lap 3 and passed De Ruwe. Both drivers then lost several places (8th and 10th). Ragnar Veerus (EST) and Gianluca Savaglio (CAN) took advantage of the situation to move into the top five. Bezel began to defend his 1st place against Frost Bay, now chased by Veerus. Antoine Barbaroux (FRA) returned to his starting position of 12th. Kylian Guérin (FRA) was up to 19th, while Noa Hipp (FRA) and Antoine Broggio (FRA) were out of the race. At mid-race, Veerus was chasing the leader Bezel 6 tenths ahead of him. Baccaglini and De Ruwe were back in the top five. Philipp Moitzi (AUT) was back in 3rd place, more than 4.5″ behind the leading duo. Veerus stepped up his effort as the race drew to a close, but Bezel controlled the threat and won by a tenth. However, a penalty for his start relegated him to 3rd place and Veerus became the official winner ahead of Moitzi. Vendelbo took 4th place while Baccaglini managed to climb to 5th ahead of Axel Saarmiala (FIN). In 17th place, Guérin was the only Frenchman to reach the finish.
