E20 Prefinal: Overhoff wins in the Senior class, Goncalves confirms in the Master’s class

Mats Johan Overhoff (DEU) quickly distanced his pursuers at the start of the race thanks to a very strong pace. Christopher Holst gradually closed in on 2nd place, followed by Piotr Borowczyk (POL) and Phillip Loacker (CHE). Meanwhile, Joao Goncalves (BRA) led E20 Master from Igor Mukhin (CYP) and Andreas Matis (DEU). At the front, Holst was back on the heels of leader Overhoff. Overhoff reacted and closed the gap, while Joao Goncalves was the first Master in 54”050, followed by Igor Mukhin (CYP) who had challenged him for 1st place for a while, then Andreas Matis (DEU) in 3rd place. Overhoff took a fine victory more than 2” ahead of Holst, Phillip Loacker 3rd ahead of Borowczyk and Marius Lyager Rose (DNK). After a difficult start, Spencer Brougham (GBR) moved up to 6th. Goncalves, Matis and Mukhin (penalised) were the top three in the E20 Master class.
