DD2: Prefinals go to Baccaglini and Bezel

Prefinal A: Baccaglini unrivalled
Leonardo Baccaglini (ITA) retained his pole position advantage at the start ahead of Philipp Moitzi (AUT), Xen De Ruwe (SVN), Antoine Barbaroux (FRA) and Ragnar Veerus (EST). Baccaglini immediately took off well ahead of his rivals: 1.7″ advantage from the third lap. Noa Hipp (FRA) was 8th ahead of Antoine Broggio (FRA). Guillermo Pernia Diaz (ESP) was 4th, but Barbaroux had dropped back to 11th ahead of Kylian Guérin (FRA). Far behind the leader, Moitzi and de Ruwe were relatively quiet in 2nd and 3rd positions. Verrus regained P4 ahead of Pernia. Baccaglini took a superb victory 3” ahead of Moitzi, followed by a second by De Ruwe. Veerus took 4th and Pernia 5th. Hipp took 7th place ahead of Broggio in 8th, Guérin finished 12th, Barbaroux lost ground to 17th and Anthony Millet (FRA) finished 22nd +12 places.

Prefinal B: Bezel withstands pressure from Saarniala
Jakub Bezel (CZE) remained in the lead ahead of Axel Saarmiala (FIN), Bende Szabo (HUN) 3rd, Victor Frost Bay (DNK) 4th and Rasmus Vendelbo (DNK) 5th. Martijn van Leeuwen (NLD) was 9th and Vendelbo was 4th, then 3rd at the halfway point. Bezel had a 1.4″ advantage over Saarniala, who was now under pressure from Vendelbo. But Szabo then attacked Vendelbo for P3. Leader Bezel’s lead narrowed considerably towards the end of the race under pressure from Saarniala. Despite this, Bezel won by just 71 thousandths from Saarniala. Szabo finished 3rd, Vendelbo 4th and Frost Bay 5th.
