Friend takes clear Mini MAX pole

The 72 Mini MAX drivers in the 2023 RMCGF were split into two groups for Qualifying Practice in Bahrain in temperatures of 25°C this Wednesday afternoon at the wheel of their Birel ART chassis.

Odd: Crisan – 58”458
The action was concentrated in the final two minutes. Alexander van Meeuwen (BEL) was leading before the fastest drivers took to the track. Ilie Tristan Crisan (CAN) set the fastest time in 58”458, two tenths ahead of Charlie Woolfit (GBR), then Travis Teoh (MYS), Cole Denholm (GBR) 4th and Majus Mazinas (LTU) 5th.

Even: Friend – 58”129
The drivers set off more quickly. Albert Friend (GBR) immediately took the lead ahead of Matteo Quinto (USA) and Jacob Ashcroft (GBR). Friend continued to improve and overtook Crisan’s provisional pole. Friend took pole position in 58”129, 0.184” ahead of Ashcroft. Marko Faly (HUN) finished 3rd, followed by Lars Lambers (BEL) and Feliciano Brushi (URY).
