OK: Matveev confirms Final victory in Lonato

Sebastiano Pavan (Tony Kart/Vortex) took the lead at the start ahead of Dmitry Matveev (KR/Iame) and Ean Eyckmans (Birel ART/TM), followed by Luigi Coluccio (Tony Kart/Vortex) in 4th place. Oleksandr Bondarev (KR/Iame) retired. Anatoly Khavalkin (Parolin/TM) crashed at the back of the pack. Gustaw Wisniewski (Tony Kart/Iame) had come back to 4th behind Coluccio before overtaking the Italian for 3rd place. Eyckmans passed him shortly afterwards to come back to 4th. After five laps, Pavan had a lead of 5 tenths over Matveev and Wisniewski was 3rd by more than a second. Matveev was back in 1st place by the seventh lap. Clément Outran made a good start to the race in 21st place, moving up eight places. In 26th and 27th, Andrea Dupé (KR/Iame) and Hugo Martiniello (KR/Iame) had made up seven and nine places respectively. Salin Hanna was back in the top five ahead of Simone Bianco (CRG/Iame) and Coluccio. Leader Matveev set the fastest time at the halfway stage, 4 tenths ahead of Pavan. Eyckmans was just over 3 tenths behind Wisniewski. Pavan responded in turn with a fastest lap. The gap between the top three was now 6 tenths, with Eyckmans just under 3 tenths back. The final laps saw no change at the front of the race. Matveev took 3.7 tenths ahead of Pavan, Wisniewski was 3rd at 1.4″ and Eyckmans 4th at 36 thousandths with the fastest lap. Hanna was 5th, less than 3 tenths behind. The three Frenchmen finished with good progressions: Outran 19th +10 places, Dupé 21st +12 places and Martiniello 25th +11 places.
