OK-Junior: Busso surprises with pole position in the WSK Final Cup

90 OK-Junior drivers took to the track for Timed Practice for the first round of the WSK Final Cup at Lonato on Friday morning. The weather was sunny but cool, with temperatures gently rising above 10°C.

Session 1: Busso – 47”374
Freddie Lloyd (LN/TM) , Ludovico Busso (Tony Kart/Vortex) and Mats Van Rooijen (Tony Kart/TM) were close at the top of the standings. Busso broke away at the end of the session with an excellent lap of 47’374. Roman Kamyab (LN/TM) took 2nd place, 2 tenths behind Arjen Kraling (KR/Iame). Elliot Kaczynski (Tony Kart/Vortex) was 4th and Lloyd 5th. Tom Dussol (CRG/TM) finished 26th.

Session 2: Schaufler – 47”568
Niklas Schaufler (KR/Iame) set the fastest lap – 47’568 – at the last moment to beat Lewis Wherrell (Exprit/TM) by 84 thousandths and Christian Costoya (Parolin/TM) by 86. Xiao Yu Sun (Tony Kart/Vortex) followed in 4th, more than a tenth behind Qarrar Firhand (KR/Iame) in 5th. Thomas Quincé (Tony Kart/Vortex) was 13th.

Series 3: Illife – 47”454
Sebastian Lehtimaki (Tony Kart/Vortex) led at the end of the session, but Jack Illife (Parolin/TM) set the fastest time of 47”454 on his final run, while David Cosma Cristofor (KR/Iame) came back to within 46 thousandths. Lehtimaki finished 3rd, a tenth behind Iacopo Martinese (KR/Iame) and Kit Belosky (Sodi/TM). Louis Cochet (Sodi/TM) finished 22nd.
