Van Langendonck moves up six places into the top 10 of the FIA International Karting Rankings

Last weekend, two new World Champions were crowned at Franciacorta. The FIA’s International Karting Ranking (IKR) immediately incorporated these results to highlight the six-place rise in the ranking of Belgian Dries van Langendonck, who won the Junior title and is now in 6th position with a total of 5,953 points. There were two Belgian drivers in the top 10, with Thibaut Ramaekers in 2nd place, as well as two Dutch drivers, OK World Championship runner-up Rene’ Lammers in 7th (up 3 places) and Stan Pex in 8th.

Meanwhile, OK World Champion Kirill Kutskov moved up 28 places from 64th to 36th. Young Dutch driver Dean Hoogendoorn, a regular in the Mini category until now, took advantage of his 2nd place in OK-NJ at the “Road to the first World Cup” to move up a place to 22nd.

In the category standings, Rene’ Lammers (NLD) is now in 1st place in OK (+1) ahead of Gabriel Gomez (BRA) and Kean Nakamura-Berta (GBR), while Kirill Kutskov moves back into the top 10. Dries van Langendonck moves up from 5th to 4th position in OK-Junior.

Van Langendonck a solid prospect for Belgium

13-year-old Dries van Langendonck put in an extraordinary performance last weekend to claim the Junior World Championship crown in his first full season in OK-Junior. He made his international debut in September 2020, before going on to enjoy two full seasons in the Mini category, where he quickly achieved excellent results. When he moved up a category, he finished 7th in the Junior World Championship in his first OK-Junior race. Dries went on to finish 5th in the European Junior Championship in 2023, then 2nd in the Champions of the Future Euro Series before winning the Mondokart.com FIA Karting World Championship in Franciacorta.
