Fine weather in Wackersdorf on Sunday morning for the Super Heats of the FIA Karting World Cup – KZ2.

Super Heat A: Orlov after several twists and turns
An incident involving Emma Felbemayr (KR/TM) meant that yellow flags were waved all over the circuit from the first lap until the safety barriers were put back in place. In 4th place the race was back on track with Alex Powell (KR/Iame) leading ahead of Maksim Orlov (Parolin/TM). Daniel Stell (KR/Iame) took advantage of the situation to take 3rd place from Thomas Imbourg (Sodi/TM), followed by Matteo Spirgel (Sodi/TM). Cristian Bertuca (Birel ART/TM) collided with an opponent and had to retire. Maxim Rehm (Birel ART/TM) was also forced to retire. Orlov and then Stell passed Powell on lap 10. Spirgel retired. Matheus Morgatto (Birel ART/TM) was 5th ahead of Alessio Piccini (Birel ART/TM). Stell retired after suffering a mechanical problem on the 13th lap. Imbourg then attacked Powell for 2nd place. Orlov won this turbulent race with the fastest lap and a 2.2″ advantage over Imbourg. Powell finished 3rd, Morgatto 4th and Piccini 5th. Tim Locati (Sodi/TM) was 17th (+8 pl), Gabin Leuillet (Birel ART/TM) 24th (-13 pl) and Enzo Lacreuse (DR/Modena) 27th.

There were several incidents in the field. Nakamura-Berta took the lead from Tröger on lap 3. Robert Kindervater (Birel ART/TM) was 4th and Genis Civico (Parolin/TM) 5th. Nomblot climbed back up to 6th ahead of Matteo Zanchi (CRG/TM) and Nikolas Roos (CRG/TM), both of whom he had attacked on the inside of the final curve. Nomblot then moved up to 5th position ahead of Civico. Nakamura-Berta extended his lead over Tröger and Vasile. Tomass Stolcermanis (Energy/TM) was back in 7th. Nakamura won with the fastest time and a 1.5″ lead over Tröger. Kindervater was 3rd by more than 7” at the end of an eventful final lap. Vasile 4th, Stolcermanis 5th, Roos 6th and Nomblot 7th.
