Mini Max: Friend wins over Ljubimov

In sunny Le Mans, the first Final of the RMCIT took place in the Mini Max category. Nikita Ljubimov (Tony Kart/Rotax) attacked Jacob Ashcroft (LN/Rotax) before the end of the first lap to take the lead. Albert Friend (Tony Kart/Rotax) was 3rd ahead of Jeremy Reuvers (Parolin/Rotax) and Cole Denholm (LN/Rotax). The top Frenchman, Léni Robillot Lagache (Tony Kart/Rotax) was 10th. Friend immediately moved up to 2nd place, while Zdenek Babicek (MS Kart/Rotax) was 6th. Robillot made up three places to 7th. The two frontrunners were 9 tenths clear of Ashcroft, who was being chased by Reuvers. Denholm was still in 4th place with Babicek in his wheeltracks. Friend sometimes seemed faster than Ljubimov, who was quick to reply. The outcome was approaching when Friend took the lead going into the final lap. The young Briton won by 0.121″ from Ljubimov. Babicek finished 3rd in a meeting which had started in last place in Qualifying. Ashcroft finished 4th and Denholm 5th. Yanis Courage (Kosmic/Rotax) was the best Frenchman, 11th after gaining 11 places.
