Cremona: Schaufler takes Junior pole position in the Champions of the Future Euro Series

97 OK-Junior drivers took part in the 4th round of the Champions of the Future Euro Series at the Cremona circuit in Italy. Under partly overcast skies, the temperature rose to around 25°C during Qualifying Practice. Most of the drivers completed three laps.

Group 1: Van Langendonck – 48”705
Four drivers finished in the same tenth. Dries Van Langendonck (Exprit/TM) was the fastest in 48”705, followed 23 thousandths behind by Thibaut Ramaekers (KR/Iame). Iacopo Martinese (KR/Iame) was 3rd, 5 hundredths ahead of Christian Costoya (Parolin/TM). In 5th place, Scott Lindblom (Tony Kart/Vortex) was 1.5 tenths behind Noah Wolfe (Birel ART/TM) in 6th place. Andy Consani (Parolin/TM) finished 22nd.

Group 2: Schaufler – 48”691
On his third and final lap, Niklas Schaufler (KR/Iame) clocked a 48”691 to take provisional pole position. Newcomer from Germany, Arjen Kräling (KR/Iame) took a surprising 2nd place just 14 thousandths behind Van Langendonck. Mees Houben (Tony Kart/TM) took 3rd place just 1/2 a thou ahead of Taym Saleh (KR/Iame) and Ludovico Busso (Tony Kart/Vortex). Louis Cochet (Sodi/TM) was 20th.

Group 3: Bondarev – 48”884
Oleksandr Bondarev (KR/Iame) was unable to improve on his final lap of 48’884, 89 thousandths ahead of Lewis Wherrell (Exprit/TM). Jack Ilife (Parolin/TM) followed in 3rd place at 0.135” ahead of Noah Monteiro (KR/Iame) and Tiziano Monza (Parolin/TM). Filippo Sala (Sodi/TM) finished 6th, Maël Le Marchand (Kosmic/Vortex) 18th and Lisa Billard (Exprit/Vortex) 23rd.
