Albanese continues to lead the KZ heats in Sarno

Saturday was a very hot day in Sarno and LeCont tyres were on the front line of overheated and sometimes bumpy asphalt. Danilo Albanese (KR/Iame) lost out on victory in Heat 1 to Viktor Gustafsson (CRG/TM) due to a movement on the grid before the lights went out. Albanese followed this up with two convincing victories to retain the lead of the European KZ Championship at the end of the heats. Gustafsson was very convincing, moving up from 10th to 2nd place, while Francesco Celenta (Parolin/TM) moved up five places to 3rd. Jérémy Iglesias (CRG/TM) put in a solid performance to finish 4th ahead of Paolo Ippolito (KR/Iame), who moved up four places. Lorenzo Travisanutto (Parolin/TM) remained in a good position in 6th place ahead of Senna van Walstijn (Sodi/TM), who was delayed by a puncture in Heat 3. Pedro Hiltbrand (Birel ART/TM) once again showed his fighting spirit in demanding conditions, moving up to 8th place (+3 places) ahead of Arthur Carbonnel (CRG/TM) and the returning Alessandro Irlando (Drago/TM). Guiseppe Palomba (Birel ART/TM) was 11th ahead of Stan Pex (KR/TM) and Riccardo Longhi (Birel ART/TM), while Tom Leuillet (Tony Kart/Vortex) was 15th (-9 places), notably after a 10″ penalty in the first heat. Adrien Renaudin’s (DR/Modena) retirement in the final heat wiped out his efforts to climb back up the field and put him in 18th place. Matteo Vigano (Birel ART/TM) crashed out in 19th place after retiring in Heat 2 and Emilien Denner (Sodi/TM) was 21st after retiring in Heat 1.
