Rene Lammers dominates the OK Final in Denmark

Happy to have regained pole position for the Final thanks to his victory in the Super Heat, Alex Powell (KR / IAME) got off to the best possible start ahead of his team-mate Kean Nakamura-Berta, but the race was quickly put under “slow” procedure following a collision involving several drivers, including Friday’s poleman, Poland’s Maciej Gladysz (LN / TM).

Powell didn’t let the green flag intimidate him, however, and resumed his advance. Thanks to a fine pass on Nakamura-Berta, René Lammers (Parolin / TM) regained his initial 2nd place, before closing in on the leader. Faster, as confirmed by his best lap of the race, Lammers logically overtook Powell and took the win some 15 laps later.

Also winner of a Super Heat, Brazilian Gabriel Gomez (CRG / IAME) passed Powell in turn. 3rd at the start of the race, Latvian Tomass Stolcermanis (Energy / TM) lost his hopes of a podium finish, despite having been very fast throughout the meeting. He finished 5th behind Nakamura-Berta. Brazilian Matheus Morgatto (Birel Art / TM) used all his fighting spirit to finish 6th ahead of his compatriot Miguel Costa (Parolin / TM), who put in his best performance since his OK debut at the start of the season.

In 8th place, Great Britain’s Joe Turney (KR / IAME) was unable to turn the tide in his favour. He finished ahead of his compatriot Nathan Tye (Sodi / TM) and Estonian Mark Dubnitski (CRG / IAME). Jules Caranta (Energy / TM), who started 12th, retired after a collision on the final lap. Another French qualifier, Arthur Poulain, moved up to 15th after gaining nine positions.
