OK Final: Gomez superb winner in Rødby

The wind had strengthened in Rødby for the OK Final of the third round of the Champions of the Future Euro Series. The sun was still shining and the thermometer was reading 17°. The fitting of new MG tyres took some getting used to.

Gabriel Gomez (CRG/Iame) got the better of Alex Powell (KR/Iame) at the start and Joe Turney (KR/Iame) snuck into 2nd position, while Kean Nakamura-Berta (KR/Iame) found a way back to 4th (+8 pl) ahead of Arthur Poulain (Tony Kart/Vortex). Thomas Strauven (KR/Iame) and David Walther (Tony Kart/Vortex) failed to finish the first lap. Powell regained 2nd place 7 tenths behind Gomez on the fourth lap. Nakamura-Berta followed in 3rd place, passing Turney. Gustav Wisniewski (Exprit/TM) was back in the top 10 with a gain of 11 places. Jules Caranta also got off to a good start in 12th position (+8 pl). Powell was slightly quicker than leader Gomez, who responded on his best lap. Still in 5th place, Poulain was struggling to keep up with Turney and was keeping an eye on Enzo Tarnvanichul (KR/Iame) behind him. Gomez had a lead of almost a second at the halfway stage. Turney was back in 3rd place, passing Nakamura-Berta with the fastest time, but Turney stopped on lap 20. Nakamura was 3rd ahead of Poulain with Tarnvanichkul still threatening in 5th place. The Thai attacked on the inside, Kirill Kutskov followed suit and Poulain suddenly lost two places. Gomez was a very fine winner, 1.3″ ahead of Powell and Nakamura-Berta. Tarnvanichkul finished 4th, Kutskov 5th and Poulain 6th. Wisniewski had moved up 13 places to 8th, Caranta finished 10th with a gain of 10 places ahead of Maksimilian Popov (KR/Iame) 11th +21 places.
