Nice OK pole position for Gomez in Trinec

The verdict of the OK Qualifying Practice for the second round of the Champions of the Future Euro Series was eagerly awaited at the Czech circuit of Trinec on Thursday lunchtime. 82 drivers discovered this new track on the FIA Karting calendar on MG tyres.

Session 1: Kamenik – 52”150
The second run featured Nathan Tye (Sodi/TM) in 52”825 ahead of Guillaume Bouzar (Tony Kart/Vortex). Rene Lammers (Parolin/TM) took the lead on the third lap in 52”335 ahead of Maciej Gladysz (LN/Vortex) before Tye overtook him on the fourth lap in 52”156. But it was Jakub Kamenik (Tony Kart/TM) who finished in the lead with a fifth lap of 52”150. Tye remained 2nd at 6 thousandths, Bouzar 3rd, Lammers 4th and Alvar Simesvaara (Tony Kart/Vortex) 5th. Jules Caranta (Energy/TM) was 6th, while Jimmy Hélias (Tony Kart/Vortex) was 13th ahead of Andrea Dupé (Sodi/TM).

Session 2: Gomez – 52”048
Gustaw Wisniewski (Exprit/TM) was the fastest on the second lap ahead of Tomass Stolcermanis (Energy/TM). Gabriel Gomez (CRG/Iame) improved on the provisional pole position on the third lap in 52”147 ahead of David Walther (Tony Kart/Vortex). Gomez finally improved to 52”048 on the fifth lap, 63 thousandths ahead of Walther. Stolcermanis took 3rd place, more than two tenths behind Wisniewski, while Lenn Nijs (KR/Iame) was 5th ahead of Tereza Babickova (Tony Kart/TM) and Enzo Tarnvanichkul (Tony Kart/Vortex). Maxens Verbrugge (Parolin/TM) finished 17th just behind Luviwe Sambudla (KR/Iame).

Session 3: Nakamura-Berta – 52”103
Jan Przyrowski (Tony Kart/Vortex) led on the second lap ahead of Arthur Poulain (Tony Kart/Vortex). Kean Nakamura-Berta (KR/Iame) achieved a third lap in 52”103 against Sebastiano Pavan (Tony Kart/Vortex) and Thomas Strauven (KR/Iame). The situation did not change much after that. Fionn Mac Laughlin (KR/Iame) was 3rd ahead of Strauven and Poulain, who were just a tenth behind.
