Mini Qualifying: Extreme pole position for Zulfikari

The 73 Mini drivers of the second round of the WSK Super Master Series in Franciacorta took advantage of a dry track and sunny skies for their Qualifying Practice with a temperature of 7°.

Session 1: Blanco – 53”789
Bosco Arias Chavarri (KR/Iame) took the lead in the last two laps, but Bruno Blanco (CRG/TM) finished in the lead with a time of 53”789, 1.4 tenths ahead of Pietro Bagutti (Parolin/TM). Arias finished 3rd by 2 tenths, followed by Lyuboslav Ruykov (KR/Iame) 4th and Devin Walz (Parolin/Iame) 5th. William Calleja (Parolin/TM) finished 6th followed by Riven Esteves (Parolin/Iame).

Session 2: Shen – 53”714
The second group started strongly as the pole position was improved on the first lap by Zeyu Shen (Parolin/TM) and Emilio Bernd (Alonso Kart/Iame). Strangely, the times did not progress much afterwards. Shen remained in the lead with a time of 53”714, 15 thousandths ahead of Bernd. Lorenzo D’Amico (IPK/TM) followed closely in 3rd, then Oliver Sin (EKS/TM) in 4th and Melvin Kalousdian (Tony Kart/TM) in 5th ahead of Luuk Taal (CRG/TM).

Session 3: Zulfikari – 53”376
The third group delayed their entry on the track until a minute before the end of the session for a single fast lap. A record of brevity in contradiction with the usual rule of the WSK this season. This dangerous game paid off for Iskender Zulfikari (Parolin/Iame) who took pole position with 53”376, 0.285” ahead of Manuel Miguez (Energy/Iame). Ludovico Mazzola (Tony Kart/Vortex) was 3rd at more than 3 tenths, Cristian Blandino (CRG/TM) 4th and Asher Ochstein (CRG/TM) 5th at 5 tenths. François Kerdal (KR/Iame) finished 14th.
