The skies cleared on Sunday lunchtime in Lonato for the OK Prefinals of the first round of the WSK Super Master Series. The track was still dry and the temperature was 8°.

Prefinal A
David Walther (Tony Kart/Vortex) defended his 1st place against Luis Egozi (Tony Kart/Vortex). Tomass Stolcermanis (Energy/TM) was right back in P2 against Maxim Rehm (LN/Vortex) and Jimmy Helias (Tony Kart/Vortex) while Simone Bianco (CRG/Iame) was 5th. Rehm moved up to 2nd position almost 2″ behind Walther after 4 laps. Helias moved up to 3rd place ahead of Stolcermanis. Egozi followed in 4th place. Koski Motorsport driver Walther set the fastest times and regularly increased his lead. Egozi regained 3rd place at the halfway point by overtaking Helias. Rehm disappeared on the 11th lap. Egozi was 2nd, 3 seconds behind Walther, Stolcermanis was 3rd and Helias 4th in front of Bianco. Walther retired with 3 laps to go and Egozi took over the P1. Egozi won this very lively Prefinal 2” ahead of Stolcermanis who had resisted the attacks of Helias, 3rd. Bianco and Zhenrui Chi (KR/TM) made up the top five.

Prefinal B
Gustaw Wisniewski (Exprit/TM) made a perfect start ahead of Jan Przyrowski (Tony Kart/Vortex). Luigi Coluccio (Tony Kart/Vortex) went off the track in the barriers of the big fast right. Kiano Blum (KR/Iame) was 3rd ahead of Marcus Saeter (Tony Kart/Vortex) and Gabriel Gomez (CRG/Iame). Nathan Tye (Sodi/TM) was 6th. Wisniewski was leading by more than 2” on the fourth lap. Blum had taken 2nd position ahead of Gomez and Przyrowski. Maksimilian Popov (Tony Kart/Vortex) was in 6th place ahead of William Go (Energy/TM) and Enea Frey (KR/Iame). Arthur Poulain (Tony Kart/Vortex) was 13th, Andrea Dupé (Sodi/TM) was around 17th and Maxens Verbrugge (Birel ART/TM) 24th. Coluccio started last and set several fastest times. At the halfway point, Blum had closed to within 1,5” of leader Wisniewski. Tye had difficulties to follow the rhythm and lost some places. Wisniewski resisted Blum’s return and took the win with less than a tenth of a second advantage. Gomez took 3rd place ahead of Popov and Frey. Tye finished 10th, Poulain 12th, Dupé 17th and Verbrugge 22nd.
