Mini Prefinals for Hoogendoorn and Zulfikari

The track in Lonato was dry on Sunday morning under a progressively overcast sky and 8° for the Mini Prefinals of the first round of the WSK Super Master Series.

Prefinal A
Behind the leader Dean Hoogendoorn (KR/Iame), Bogdan Cosma Cristofor (KR/Iame) and Theo Travis (Alonso Kart/Iame) followed each other ahead of Bosco Arias Chavarri (KR/Iame) and Keelan Harvick (Parolin/Iame). Hoogendoorn already had a lead of almost a second on the second lap over Arias, who was followed by Travis and Harvick. Hoogendoorn managed to keep the gap to the chasers and took the win 1” ahead of Arias, Travis 3rd, Harvick 4th and Cosma Cristofor 5th.

Prefinal B
Iskender Zulfikari (Parolin/Iame) started in the lead ahead of Ilia Berezkin (KR/Iame) and Zeyu Shen (Parolin/TM) while Vladimir Ivannikov (EKS/TM) was only 7th. Max Endacott (KR/Iame) moved up to 4th ahead of Luuk Taal (CRG/TM). Ivannikov was soon back in the top five, while the battle for the lead between Zulfikari and Berezkin intensified. François Kerdal (KR/Iame) was back in 9th place in the pack before retiring in mid-race. Shen and Endacott continued to fight for 3rd position. Zulfikari secured another victory without flinching as the race ended under yellow flags due to an incident. Berezkin took 2nd place, Endacott 3rd, Shen 4th and Rivens Esteves (Parolin/Iame) 5th.
