Vasile on pole for KZ2 in Lonato

There was a strong field of 69 KZ2 drivers for the first WSK Super Masters Series in Lonato. Qualifying was in the sun and 6°, on a dry track.

Session 1
Viacheslav Putiatin (Falcon /TM) and Emilien Denner (Sodi/TM) led the way ahead of David Liwinski (KR/TM). Daniel Vasile (Birel ART/TM) was finally the fastest with 45”497, followed by 33 thousandths by Denner. Corentin Rousseau (Maranello/TM) finished 3rd, Francesco Celenta (Parolin/TM) 4th and David Trefilov (Maranello/TM) 5th. Senna van Walstijn (Sodi/TM) did not go out on the track due to shoulder pain from skiing.

Session 2
Alex Maragliano (Maranello/TM) immediately took the lead, but Tom Leuillet (Tony Kart/Vortex) replaced him on the second lap and confirmed his position ahead of Andrea Bosetto (CRG/TM) and Arthur Carbonnel (CRG/TM). Leuillet continued his battle with Maragliano while Moritz Ebner (Birel ART/TM) was in the lead. Artem Severiukhin (Birel ART/TM) was on the pace. Ebner remained in the lead on 45”715, perfectly tied with Pedro Hiltbrand (Birel ART/TM). Leuillet was 3rd by 5 thousandths, Severiukhin 4th by 23 thousandths, then Maragliano 5th by 6 hundredths. Carbonnel finished 14th. No lap was recorded for Adrien Renaudin (DR/Modena), suffering from the ribs after a crash the day before on a wet section due to a water leak from a kart in front of him.

Session 3
Cristian Bertuca (Birel ART/TM) showed himself to be very fast from the start against Viktor Gustafsson (CRG/TM) and Jérémy Iglesias (CRG/TM). Freddie Slater (Birel ART/TM) then took the lead on lap four and set the fastest time – 45”634 – a tenth ahead of Bertuca and Alessio Piccini (Birel ART/TM). Iglesias was 4th and Giuseppe Palomba (Birel ART/TM) 5th. Lorenzo Travisanutto (Parolin/TM) was 11th.
