Walther wins a dramatic OK Final

The final race of the WSK Champions Cup, the OK Final, was shaping up to be an explosive one with Dmitry Matveev (KR/Iame) and David Walther (Tony Kart/Vortex) on the front row, followed by Martin Molnar (Energy/TM) and Tomass Stolcermanis (Energy/TM).

Matveev took advantage of the pole position to start without any problems, while Walther had to defend against the two Energy drivers who managed to overtake him on the first lap. Miroslav Mikes (MS Kart/Iame) made an incredible start to the race by moving up from 18th to 5th position in just one lap… Matveev had a 1” lead after three laps over Stolcermanis and Molnar. Matveev disappeared on lap 6 after an engine problem, looking like a clutch. Molnar then led ahead of Walther and Stolcermanis, then the enigmatic Mikes 4th and Kiano Blum (KR/Iame) 5th. Maksimilian Popov (Tony Kart/Vortex) reached 6th position from 23rd on the grid. Walther took over the lead on lap 13, passing Molnar. Walther finished more than 8 tenths ahead of Molnar, Stolcermanis followed a few lengths behind, Blum finished 4th ahead of Mikes followed by Popov. Guillaume Bouzar (Tony Kart/Vortex) took 9th place. Andrea Dupe (Sodi/TM) finished 28th.
