WSK Champions Cup: Berezkin on Mini pole in Lonato

Three timed sessions awaited the 72 WSK Champions Cup Mini Gr.3s who entered the track ahead of the 40 Mini drivers under the age of 10. The weather was dry in Lonato, with a partly cloudy sky and a temperature of 6° on Friday morning. The participants did not rush to enter the track as soon as the green flag was waved.

Session 1
Riven Esteves (Parolin/Iame) set the fastest time of 52’925 at the last moment, 74 thousandths ahead of Dean Hoogendoorn (Alonso Kart/Iame). Mariano Lopez (Parolin/Iame) followed almost two tenths ahead of Teoh Travis (Alonso Kart/Iame) and Devin Walz (Parolin/Iame). Bogdan Cosma Cristofor (KR/Iame) was in the leading group for a long time and finished 9th.

Session 2
Keelan Harvick (Parolin/Iame) finished 8st in his fourth and final lap with a time of 52’822, provisional pole, 28 thousandths ahead of Melvin Kaloudsian (Tony Kart/TM). Angelo Blanco (CRG/TM) followed in 3rd place, 7 hundredths behind, then Zdenek Babicek (Parolin/TM) 4th and Michael McGaughy (Parolin/Iame). François Kerdal (KR/Iame) was 6th ahead of William Caleja (Parolin/TM).

Session 3
Ilia Berezkin (KR/Iame) finally took pole position with 52”766, a tenth ahead of Vladimir Ivannikov (EKS/TM) and Ralph Taal (CRG/TM). Samuele Cecchetto (Lenzo/LKE) and Max Endacott (Alonso Kart/Iame) completed the top five. For his Mini debut, Louis Baziret (EKS/TM) finished 21st.
