The KZ2 category of the WSK Champions Cup had 38 participants in Lonato. The weather was overcast while the temperature was still 6°.
Session 1
Freddy Slater (Birel ART/TM) was already very fast in his first appearance in the gearbox category. The young Briton set the fastest time in 45”593, with Matteo Spirgel (Sodi/TM) following at a distance of one hundredth. Artem Severiukhin (Birel ART/TM) was 3rd, more than two tenths behind. Tim Gerhards (Sodi/TM) was 4th and Luis Speck (TB Kart/TM) 5th.
Session 2
Cristian Bertuca (Birel ART/TM) dominated the session, but his time of 45’723 did not allow him to take pole position. Viacheslav Putiatin (Falcon/TM) took 2nd place and Adrien Renaudin (DR/Modena) was already competitive on his new kart. Paul Rieberer (KR/Iame) finished 4th and Maximilian Paul (DR/Modena) 5th.
