Paul Louveau (FRA) was very competitive during the Qualifying Heats of the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals 2022 in Portimao. He beat the weather to win both races and maintain his lead after his pole position. Kristaps Gasparovics (LVA) moved up to 2nd ahead of Fernando Guzzi (BRA). Martynas Tankevicius (LTU) moved up to 4th ahead of Henrijs Grube (LVA). Derek Wang (USA) secured 6th place ahead of Vivien Cussac-Picot (FRA) who moved up from 12th to 7th. Charles Seguin (FRA) moved up three places to 16th.
