WSK Open Cup: Cosma Cristofor takes the Mini pole in the dry

The Lonato track had time to dry out after a wet night for the WSK Open Cup Mini Qualifying Practice late Friday morning. The temperature was 16° under a partly overcast sky which started to rain from the second session onwards.
In the first session Bogdan Cosma Cristofor (Parolin/Iame) had a good performance and finished with the best time of 53’550, a tenth faster than Kacper Rajpold (Alonso Kart/Iame) and 0,272” ahead of Matteo Carrer (Parolin/Iame). Vladimir Ivannikov (EKS/TM) finished 4th by 3 tenths, followed in the top five by Mika Runitz (Parolin/TM), then Julius Ociepa (Righetti/TM) and François Kerdal (KR/Iame). Alessandro Truchot (Parolin/TM) finished 20th.
The rain came back for Session 2. Ludovico Busso (DR/TM) got the better of Filippo Sala (KR/Iame) to secure the fastest time on his second run with 1’22”030. William Calleja (Parolin/TM) closed to within 1.6 tenths, followed by Kai Johnson (Energy/TM) and Sala in 3rd, with Andrei Dominic Sutu (KR/Iame) taking 5th. Filippo Pancotti (Parolin/Iame) finished 7th, and Dean Hoogendoorn (Alonso Kart/Iame) 11th.
On a slippery track, Augustus Toniolo (KR/Iame) was fastest on the third lap against Louis Cochet (Parolin/Iame). Bruno Gryc then took 2nd place and set the fastest time with 1’12”167, 7 hundredths ahead of Toniolo and 5 tenths ahead of Cochet. Orlando Rovelli (KR/Iame) took 4th place in extremis ahead of Nicola Stanley (EKS/TM).
Roman Kamyab (Parolin/Iame) was immediately at ease in the wet conditions of Session 4 and set the fastest lap to finish in 1’11”919, 5 tenths ahead of Jack Illife (Parolin/TM), followed by Bruno Blanco (Parolin/TM). Ainis Vibriantis (Energy/TM) and Michele Orlando (IPK/TM) completed the top five ahead of Iskender Zulfikari (Parolin/Iame).
