Milell takes the pole position of the World KZ Championship

The 39 drivers of the KZ World Championship were divided into two Qualifying sessions on Friday at midday in Le Mans. The track was dry and the temperature rose to 20°.

Session 1: Milell – 49”170
Craig Tanic (Birel ART/TM) was first to set a time with Tuukka Taponen (Tony Kart/Vortex), setting a 49”667 on the third lap. Lorenzo Camplese (Tony Kart/Vortex) and Senna van Walstijn (Sodi/TM) returned to the top three. Noah Milell (Tony Kart/Vortex) took the lead on the fourth lap in 49”330. Emilien Denner (Sodi/TM) returned to the dance with a fifth lap in 49”264. Milell finished as the provisional leader with his sixth lap – 49”170, 26 thousandths ahead of Camplese. Denner finished 3rd at 48 thousandths ahead of Taponen and Lorenzo Travisanutto (Parolin/TM) 5th at 0,130”. Van Walstijn finished 6th, Adrien Renaudin (Tony Kart/Vortex) 7th, Jérémy Iglesias (CRG/TM) 8th and Anthony Abbasse (Sodi/TM) 10th.

Session 2: Puhakka – 49”839
Riccardo Longhi (Birel ART/TM) faced Viktor Gustafsson (CRG/TM) on the third lap. Marijn Kremers (Birel ART/TM) regained the lead on the fourth lap in 49”564, and overtook Simo Puhakka (Tony Kart/Vortex) on the fifth lap. The positions were then reversed with Puhakka’s best time – 49”839 – 18 thousandths ahead of Longhi. Pedro Hiltbrand (Birel ART/TM) finished 3rd at 23 thousandths, while Gustafsson was 4th at 0.57″, followed by Kremers. Jaime Alguersuari (CRG/TM) did not go out on the track.

Reigning World Champion Noah Milell took pole position ahead of teammate Simo Puhakka for a one-two finish for the Tony Kart Racing Team.
