DKM: Will the first decisions be made in the Arena E?

This year, the German Kart Championship celebrates its 60th anniversary and, at the same time, 30 years of partnership with Point Racing. Two reasons to honour at the fourth round in Mülsen next weekend. At the same time, a first title decision may also be made.

After races in Kerpen, Genk (Belgium) and Ampfing, the German Kart Championship is entering the home straight. Next weekend, the championship will travel to Mülsen in Saxony. For the second time, the 1,315-metre circuit is part of the DKM racing calendar and promises exciting races before the finale. In the German Shifter-Kart-Championship, the first decision may be made this weekend. In the other three categories DKM, DJKM and DSKM, however, everything is still open.

30 years of DKM and Point Racing – a long partnership to be honoured
The race in Mülsen is all about the 30-year partnership between the German Kart Championship and Point Racing. With its racing service, the specialist for helmets and race wear is a fixed part of a DKM event and has accompanied many drivers from karting all the way to Formula 1. “For me, a weekend at the kart track always gives me the feeling of coming home again. I used to race in the DKM myself and find it exciting to watch today’s drivers. Sebastian Vettel bought his first ARAI helmet at our racing service back then, and since then we have accompanied him through all stages of his career”, says Point-Racing owner Peter Bürger.

Will Jorrit Pex win his eighth championship title early in Mülsen?
Veteran Jorrit Pex (SP Motorsport) wants to know it again this year. With an impressive double victory at the last race in Ampfing, he extended his lead in the overall standings to 53 points. With another good race, he can now make a preliminary decision in Mülsen and would then celebrate his eighth DSKM title. Daniel Stell (Dörr Motorsport) is the only one who could still be a threat to him.

However, the title fight in the other categories is still open. Maxim Rehm (Rehm Racing, DKM), Jens Treur (Falcon Racing Team, DJKM) and Ben Dörr (Dörr Motorsport, DSKC) travel to Saxony as the leaders of their categories. But none of them should sit back. Their pursuers are hot on their heels and are just waiting to strike back in Mülsen.

BMW M2 Cup exhibits racing car in Mülsen
Since last year, the BMW M2 Cup has been supporting the DKM as a partner and offering a test opportunity for two drivers at the end of the year. This year, the cup is again competing as part of the DTM and offers young drivers a good platform to enter touring car racing. In Mülsen, the BMW M2 Cup will present its racing car and will be available for interested parties to exchange information.
