RMCIT: Junior Max pole position for Germany’s Lee

61 Junior Max drivers took part in the Qualifying Practice for the Rotax Max Challenge International Trophy on Thursday morning in Le Mans on a dry track with a temperature of 20°.

Session 1: Wazny – 53”746
Arjun Chheda (Tony Kart/Rotax) was among the quickest to get into action with Paul Grisel (Kosmic/Rotax) on the first lap. Christopher Feghali (LN/Rotax) took the lead on the second lap and Georgios Kafantaris (Exprit/Rotax) took the lead on the third lap. But it was Colin Wazny (Kosmic/Rotax) who set the fastest time with 53”746 on his fourth lap. Romeo Roussel (LN/Rotax) followed him by 35 thousandths ahead of Feghali and Oscar Goudchaux (FA Kart/Rotax). Kafantaris finished 5th and Lisa Billard (Kosmic/Rotax) finished in the top 10.

Session 2: Lee – 53”630
In the second session, Austin Lee (Exprit/Rotax) set the fastest second lap ahead of Marsh Scott (LN/Rotax) and Jean-Paul Karras (Kosmic/Rotax). Scott moved into the lead on lap 3 before he was passed by Aleksandar Bogunovic (Tony Kart/Rotax). Lee took pole position with 53’630 on his fifth lap. Mateja Radenkovic (Tony Kart/Rotax) followed by 0.130” ahead of Felipe Falk (TB Kart/Rotax), Scott and Noah Janssen (Gillard/Rotax). In 9th position, Arthur Raphanel (Alonso Kart/Rotax) was the top Frenchman.
