Mini Qualifying: Zulfikari on pole for the WSK Euro Series

With 110 participants, the Mini Gr.3 was a full house in the WSK Euro Series in Lonato. Four groups were needed for the Qualifying Practice late Friday morning, while the sky was blue and the temperature was already approaching 30°. The drivers did not wait to enter the track, according to the new WSK rule, and the best performances were achieved during the second or third lap.

Session 1: Zulfikari – 52”775
Iskender Zulfikari (KR/Iame) was fastest in 52”775 on his second lap, ahead of William Calleja (Parolin/TM) by 0.157” and Dries van Langendonck (Parolin/TM). Louis Cochet (Parolin/Iame) finished 8th by 3 tenths and Walter Schulz (Sodi/TM) 20th.

Session 2: Hoogendoorn – 52”879
Fastest on the second lap, Dean Hoogendoorn (Alonso Kart/Iame) improved to 52”879 on the next lap, 0.139” ahead of Ilie Tristan Crisan (Alonso Kart/Iame) and Cristian Costoya (Parolin/TM). Bogdan Cosma Cristofor (KR/Iame) was 4th followed by Iacopo Martinese (Parolin/Iame).

Session 3: Ivannikov – 52”860
Vladimir Ivannikov (EKS/TM) set the fastest time on the second lap in 52”860, more than 4 tenths ahead of the rest. Filippo Pancotti (Parolin/Iame) then came back to 0.369”, followed by Roman Kamyab (Parolin/Iame). Alessandro Truchot (Parolin/TM) finished 7th.

Session 4: Palocko – 53’’045
Olivier Palocko (Parolin/Iame) set the fastest second lap with 53”045 ahead of Cristian Tonalini (Parolin/TM) and Zdenek Babicek (Parolin/Iame) by a tenth. Bruno Gryc (Parolin/TM) was 4th and Ludovico Mazzola (Tony Kart/Vortex) 5th.
