French pole position thanks to Helias in OK-Junior at Franciacorta

The last round of the FIA European Karting Championship – OK-Junior began with Qualifying Practice on Friday afternoon. The weather was good with temperatures around 25° and gradually rising on the Franciacorta circuit. 76 drivers were at the start out of the 89 entered. Nothing was moving before the half of the session and the opportunity to achieve a clear and fast lap was not easy to find.

Session 1: Tye – 48’831
Kilian Josseron (Sodi/TM) did not start from the Parc Ferme in the first session. Alfie Slater (LN/Vortex) was the fastest in the first run ahead of Nathan Tye (Sodi/TM) and Martin Molnar (Energy/TM). Tye improved and set the fastest time of 48”831 on the second lap, 7 thousandths ahead of Slater. Andrea Dupe (Sodi/TM) followed by 19 thousandths, then Zac Drummond (Parolin/TM) and Mattia Colnaghi (IPK/TM) in the top five. Molnar finished 8th ahead of Rene Lammers (Parolin/TM), Enzo Tarnvanichkul (Tony Kart/Vortex) 11th, Taym Saleh (KR/Iame) 14th, Maxens Verbrugge (KR/Iame) 15th and Jules Caranta (Energy/TM) 19th

Session 2: Helias – 48”770
Jimmy Helias (Tony Kart/Vortex) was the fastest in the first run ahead of Matias Orjuela (Parolin/TM) and Jan Przyrowski (Tony Kart/Vortex). Helias confirmed this by setting the fastest time on the second lap, 48”770, provisional pole position, a tenth ahead of Orjuela and Anatholy Khavalkin (Parolin/TM) in 3rd. Elliot Kaczinski (Tony Kart/Vortex) and Gerasim Skulanov (Birel ART/TM) finished in the top five. Guillaume Bouzar (Tony Kart/Vortex) was 11th, Guy Albag (Tony Kart/Vortex) 16th and Arthur Dorison (Tony Kart/Vortex) only 21st.

Session 3: Dzitiev – 49”027
The third session again delayed its entry to the track. No action until 2’15 from the end. Thibaut Ramaekers (KR/Iame) took the lead on the first lap with 49’230. Kirill Dzitiev (Tony Kart/Vortex) improved on the second lap to 49’027. Maria Germano Nato (Tony Kart/Vortex) was 2nd at 5 hundredths, followed by Dmitry Matveev (Tony Kart/Vortex) 3rd at 0,129”, Nicklas Schaufler (KR/Iame) and Kirill Kutskov (Birel ART/TM). Ramaekers finished 7th, Reno Francot 8th and Maciej Gladysz (LN/Vortex) 9th. Andy Consani (Sodi/TM) was 11th, Andreas Cardenas (Energy/TM) 16th and Kimi Tani (Tony Kart/Vortex) 21st.
