Nakamura-Berta takes OK pole in Sweden

At Kristianstad, the Qualifying Practice for the FIA Karting European Championship – OK involved 69 drivers. The track was dry, the sky was overcast and the thermometer indicated 13°. With MG tyres, they took to the track with around 4’30” to go.

Session 1: Rehm – 50”336
Matheus Morgatto (KR/Iame) posted 52”550 on the first lap, then Dion Gowda (LN/Vortex) was 50”972 on the second lap. Maxim Rehm (LN/Vortex), who was already the leader on the third lap, improved to 50’336 on the fourth lap and set the reference time 26 thousandths ahead of Arvid Lindblad (KR/Iame), followed by Yuanpu Cui (KR/Iame) in 3rd place, Matheus Ferreira (KR/Iame) in 4th place and Gowda in 5th place, a tenth behind. Evan Giltaire (KR/Iame) was 7th and Arthur Rogeon (KR/Iame) 9th.

Session 2: Powell – 50”464
Fabian Stureson (Exprit/Vortex) posted 53”044 after the first lap, then David Walther (Tony Kart/Vortex) upped the pace to 51”017 on the second lap. 50”621 for Stureson again on the third lap, then Alex Powell (KR/Iame) took the lead on the fourth lap in 50”507. Powell concluded with his fifth lap in 50”464, followed by James Egozi (Tony Kart/Vortex) by 15 thousandths. Luka Sammalisto (KR/Iame) was 3rd, Tuukka Taponen (Tony Kart/Vortex) 4th and Walther 5th at 59 thousandths.

Session 3: Nakamura-Berta – 50”314
Kean Nakamura-Berta (KR/Iame) took the lead over Enzo Deligny (Parolin/TM) on lap 2 with a time of 50’900. Maksim Orlov (Parolin/TM) came closer to the top on his third run in 50’447, well ahead of his rivals. Nakamura improved to 50’426 on lap 4 and took pole position on his next run with 50’314. Tomass Stolcermanis (Energy/TM) followed by 95 thousandths, Orlov finished 3rd, Sat 4th and Juho Valtanen (Tony Kart/Vortex) 5th at 0,159”. Malo Bolliet (KR/Iame) reached 7th place and Deligny did not progress any further in 9th position.
