Genk: good KZ pole position achieved by Denner

The weather in Genk was very fine with 20° in the air and a completely dry track for the Qualifying Practice for the 33 participants of the FIA European Karting Championship on LeCont tyres.

As soon as the green flag was shown, the drivers took to the track and spontaneously split into two separate groups. From the third lap onwards, things started to get serious. Simo Puhakka (Tony Kart/Vortex) led ahead of Davide Fore’ (Birel ART/TM), then Juho Valtanen (Tony Kart/Vortex). Emilien Denner (Sodi/TM) took the lead on the fourth lap ahead of Paolo Ippolito (KR/Iame) and Noah Milell (Tony Kart/Vortex). Denner confirmed with 50”511 on the fourth lap, followed by Francesco Celenta (Parolin/TM) by 0.172”. Tuukka Taponen (Tony Kart/Vortex) took 3rd, but Matteo Vigano (Birel ART/TM) overtook him, while Puhakka finished 5th ahead of Ippolito and Millel. Senna van Walstijn (Sodi/TM) was 8th, followed by Jorrit Pex (KR/TM) and Adrien Renaudin (Tony Kart/Vortex) in the top ten. Lorenzo Travisanutto (Parolin/TM) was 11th, Riccardo Longhi (Birel ART/TM) 13th, Pedro Hiltbrand (Birel ART/TM) 16th ahead of Jérémy Iglesias (CRG/TM) and Fore’. In 20th, Marijn Kremers (Birel ART/TM) was followed by Gabin Leuillet and Yohan Soguel (Oberon/TM) while Louis Bonsaudo (Intrepid/TM) was 31st.
